Yes, squirrels are rodents. There are more than 280 different species of squirrels. Most are small and have big eyes and bushy tails. Their large eyes help them skilfully climb trees and avoid predators. They love eating nuts, fruits and seeds. They are born blind, they can't fly, however they can glide between trees.
